The SpectralWave MN Series is a family of new-generation MSTP SDH optical systems with features for next-generation networks, including SDH, ATM, RPR, and Ethernet over SDH services. These total solutions for optical transport provide integrated network control for various customers and/or regions on a common system platform and can interconnect with multi-vendor systems based on ITU-T specifications. |

- Scalable cross-connect capacity
- Comprehensive multi-service platform
- Ethernet and RPR (MN2200, MN2300, MN3100, MN4100)
- High-speed, high-density backplane
- ASON (MN4100)
- GMPLS (MN4100)
- ATM (MN3100, MN4100)
- Various service interfaces
Support for transmission speeds from 155Mb/s to 10GB/s Multi-rate integrated transport for TDM, 10/100/1000M Ethernet, RPR and ATM services eneric framing procedure (GFP) for Ethernet, fiber channels, etc.
- Effective bandwidth utilization
Link capacity adjustment scheme (LCAS) for efficient bandwidth usage
- High reliability
Many network schemes are realized on the SDH layer (protection switching time < 50ms) SP+SNCP, 2/4 fiber MS-SPRing, DNI protection, 2 node BLSR, fiber-shared virtual ring protection Resilient packet ring (RPR) technology with wrapping/steering in up to 64 nodes Load sharing: Multiple spanning tree protocol (MSTP) IEEE802.1s High-speed failure recovery: Spanning tree protocol (STP) IEEE802.1d and rapid spanning tree protocol (RSTP) IEEE802.1w
- Scalability and upgradeability
The MN9100 network management system enables automatic in-service network reconfiguration for expansion and upgrading. No manual operation is required, for example, when upgrading from 2.5G MS-SPRing to 10G MS-SPRing.
