Each Express5800 server can be scled from processor up to the maximum, to meet your changing computing requirements.Memory can be expanded up to 48GB on 2-way servers and up to 64GB on 4-way and 8-way. Multiple PCI,PCI-X and PCI EXPRESS slots accommodate a variety of custom needs.
NEC offers a wide range of options to meet your needs. The generous internal storage capacity of Express5800 servers can be augmented by the 2U disk expansion unit(DEU),which holds up to 12 disk drives,and its device expansion unit(MDEU), which permits the addition of up to 4 tape backup units.
Express5800 servers come with superior software and applications for easy setup and system management NEC EXPRESSBUILDER installation software provides utilities that assist in setting up the server, drivers, user accounts, and operating system. NEC EXPRESSBUILDER offers guided installation for and Microsoft Windows Server 2003 operating system, with driver support for other operating systems. NEC ESMPRO Server Management allows network administrators to monitor, analyze, and manage Express5800 servers across a network from a management console or any PC with an Internet browser. Most Express5800 servers also feature DianaScope and EXPRESSSCOPE Engine. This hard-ware/software combination permits remote control of server resources via a LAN or standard modem connection. It provides remote power control, remote event-log access, and remote console redirection,eliminating expensive remote-management add-in cards found on some competitive system.
