The NEC Express5800/120Rg-1 supports up to two Quad-Core Intel Xeon 5300 series processors* or up to two Dual-Core Intel Xeon 5100 series processors. Powered by the multi-core Intel Xeon processors that enable data intensive processing, the 120Rg-1 delivers improved application performance within the same physical space. *2.5-inch SAS disk mode only.

Delivering up to 48GB(4GB x12) of memory capacity, the 120Rg-1 employs DDR2-667 Fully-Buffered DIMM memory with ECC, Chipkill,mirroring, and on-line sparing capabilities.

To provide high-performance internal storage, the 120Rg-1 supports hot-swap 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) disk drives, with maximum capacities of 900GB (300GB x3) and 879GB (146.5GB x6) respectively. The120Rg-1 is also available with hot - swap Serial ATA2 disk drives, with up to 1.5TB (5ooGBx3). Both the SAS and the SATA2 models allow RAID 0 and1 as standard and RAID 5 as option.

Along with on 64bit/100MHz PCI-X slot, the 120Rg-1 supports one PCI EXPRESS x8 slot as standard. By installing an optional riser card, you can replace the 64bit/100MHz PCI-X slot with a PCI EXPRESS x- slot.

To ensure continuous system operation, redundant hot-swap power supplies are supported as option on the SAS Models.Redundant fans are supported as standard on both the SAS and the SATA2 models (not hot-swappable).

To enhance RAS (Reliability, Availability and Serviceability) functionality, the 120Rg-1 comes standard with the EXPRESSSCOPE Engine. This feature allows the user to monitor the status of a managed server and operate its KVM (Keyboard, Video, and Mouse) devices from a remote console via LAN.

Bundled for easy system management, NEC ESMPRO monitors and controls system operation from the remote console, and assists the administrator in troubleshooting the system. For simple system installation, NEC EXPRESSBUILDER is attached as an installation support tool.
