The NEC Ezpress5800/140Re-4 features up to four Dual-Core Intel Xeon Processor 7140M (3.40GHz, 800MHz FSB, 16MB L3 cache) or 7110M(2.60GHz, 800MHz FSB, 4MB L3 cache). The front-accessible CPU module allows easy upgrade and maintenance, helping reduce system downtime.
Providing up to 64GB(4GBx16) DDR2-400 SDRAM memory with ECC and Chipkill capabilities, the 140Re-4 enables Memory Mirroring and Memory RAID using optional memory back boards. The memory modules are hot-swappable and accessible from the front side for easy maintenance.
To provide high-performance internal storage, the NEC Express5800/140Re-4 supports Serial Attached SCSI(SAS). By installing an additional HDD cage, an extra device bay becomes available for tape backup.(RAID 0, 1 and 5 are supported as standard.
The NEC Express5800/140Re-4 provides a total of nine I/O slots, including six hot-plug slots (two PCI EXPRESS x8 slots and four 64bit/100MHz PCI-x slots).
Hot-swap redundant power supplies are supported as option. cooling fans are hot-swap redundant as standard.
To enhance RAS (Reliability, Availability and Serviceability) functionality, the 140re-4 comes bundled with an Advanced Remote Management Controller and dianaScopemanagement software. These features allow the user to monitor the operating status of a managed server via a web browser form a remote site and to operate the managed server's KVM (Keyboard, Video, and Mouse) via LAN from a remote console.
Bundled for easy system management, NEC ESMPRO monitors and controls system operation from the remote console, and assists the administrator in troubleshooting the system. For simple system installation, NEC EXPRESSBUILDER is attached as an installation support tool.
